The Myklebust Viking ship will be launched from Sagastad Viking center on April 23rd 2025. In the week that follow, there will be voyages with the ship, viking games and fun! You can join as a spectator, or get on board by booking your ticket now.
Strongman and current world record holder in Thor’s Hammer one arm grip lift, Martins Licis, will singlehandedly pull the ship out to the fjord. There will be a limited number of spectator tickets for this event.
Two days later the ship will be ready for te first voyage of the year, after the plymming process (soaking) is complete. Sagastad will be open during the plymming process so you can watch, as well as visit our reenactor guests in the viking village, shop viking trinkets and take part in fun games, storytelling and other activities.
The viking village and activities will be open every day until (and including) tuesday 29th of April. Some of the days there will also be other posts on the program, the details for these events will be released soon. You can see the times when the Myklebust will be rowed on the fjord here.

Wednesday April 23rd: SEA LAUNCH
The worlds strongest man Martins Licis pulls the ship out to the Fjord!
The ship will be floating by the evening, timing depends on weather and other factors.
Limited viewing places available. Tickets MUST be bought in advance.
Due to safety there will be a designated area for viewing.
Thursday April 24th:
The ship will be plymming (soaking) during this day.
Sagastad is open 09:00 – 18:00.

Official opening of the launch weekend at 19.00, First voyage seremony by Minister of Culture Lubna Jaffery.
The first voyage of the year at 20.00.

Voyages throughout the day.
Sagastad is open 09:00 – 18:00, and will re-open 19:00 for a spectacular fashion show onboard the ship. Details TBA.
