Here you’ll find our opening hours and current admission prices.

Visits outside regular opening hours

If you would like to visit outside our regular opening hours, please contact us to arrange a visit.

Ship launch: The dates for the 2026 ship launch will be announced soon. A separate programme and opening hours will apply during the event in April.

Cruise calls: We are always open when a cruise ship calls at Nordfjordeid.

October - November 2026

Regular opening hours

Tuesday–Saturday: 12:00–16:00

Last admission and ticket sales: 15:30

Closed: Mondays and Sundays, except on cruise days.

Extended opening hours

On days when cruise ships call at Nordfjordeid, the following opening hours apply:

  • 7 and 8 October: 09:00–17:00
  • 12 October: 09:00–16:00
  • 30 October: 10:00–16:00
  • 9 November: 09:00–15:00
  • 16 November: 09:00–17:00

Prices 2026 - 2027

Here you’ll find an overview of admission prices for Sagastad.

Adult

Adults age 16 to 64 years

Child

Children age 6 to 15 years

Adult: Visitors aged 16 and over who do not qualify for another discounted ticket.

Child: Children aged 6–15. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult during their visit.

Please note: Children under 6 are admitted free of charge.

Young children

Children under 6 years of age accompanied by an adult

Family

2 adults and 2-3 children (6-15 år)

Children under 6: Free admission when accompanied by an adult. Every child must still have their own ticket registered at the ticket desk.

Family: Valid for up to two adults and three children under 15. All tickets must be purchased together at the entrance or in the same online booking.

Senior

Adults aged 65 or over, or holders of a valid senior concession card.

Student

Students with valid student id.

Senior: Available on presentation of valid identification (ID card or passport), a Norwegian senior concession card, or a foreign senior or disability card (such as the European Disability Card).

Student: Available to upper secondary school pupils and college or university students. Valid student IDs or school cards from any country are accepted.

C

Companion

Accompanying a person with a valid companion card.

Groups

Group prices from 15 persons+.

Companion: Free admission for a companion accompanying a person who needs assistance. A valid companion card or equivalent official documentation from another country must be presented at the ticket desk.

Groups: Discounted group rates apply to bookings of at least 15 people. Group visits must be booked in advance by email so we can accommodate your group.

Guided tour

Private guided tour – must be pre-booked

About the tour: For guests who would like to explore Viking history in more depth, we offer private guided tours of the centre’s exhibitions. A standard tour lasts approximately one hour.

Booking: Guided tours must be booked in advance and can be tailored to individuals, families and groups.

Guided tours are available in Norwegian and English.

Press, journalists and influencers: Press accreditation or other arrangements must be agreed in advance. Please email post@sagastad.no well before your visit. This applies only if you are visiting Sagastad in a professional capacity to create content about or cover the centre.

Special discounts: Sagastad may offer discounted tickets to organisations with an agreement.
